Project Makeover is led by our student Executive Boards at the University of Florida, where it began, and the University of South Florida, together with the Board of Directors of Project Makeover Inc.

Executive Boards

Our student Executive Boards run Project Makeover on each campus, leading everything from planning and fundraising to makeover weekend itself. Meet each branch on its own page.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors supports the mission and goals of Project Makeover. The Board is comprised of alumni members who represent diversity in thought, background, experience and community. Board members help cultivate the alumni base, engage new partners in the public and private sectors, and provide mentorship to the current Executive Board.

    Josh is the founder of Project Makeover and current Chair of the Project Makeover Board of Directors. After graduating from the University of Florida, Josh went on to serve as an AmeriCorps volunteer in West Philadelphia, where he managed a community resource center that connected community members with basic social services. Josh then earned his Master of Public Administration from American University in Washington, D.C. where he now resides and continues his career in public service as a Management Analyst for the Peace Corps. As the Chair, Josh looks forward to strengthening community involvement with Project Makeover and advancing the organization’s vision to enhance public education and civic engagement.

    Stephanie graduated from the University of Florida in 2020 with a degree in Accounting. During her time in PM she served as a volunteer, a Donations Captain, a Donations Coordinator and then as Executive Director. She worked on the makeovers at Stephen Foster, Terwilliger, Lake Forest, and Norton Elementary. Stephanie is currently a Graduate Student at the University of South Florida getting her Masters in Accountancy (MAcc), and serves on the Board of Directors as the Administrative Officer. As a member of PM, Stephanie is passionate about connecting college students to their local communities and educating people on education inequality.

    Kristina is a graduate of the University of Florida with both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Elementary Education. She has been an employee of the School Board of Alachua County for more than a decade and is currently serving as an Instructional Technology Coach. It is her hope that Project Makeover will continue to revolutionize its birthplace as well as become a global force for change.

    Julianne Scherker is an Independent Educational Consultant, partnering with education organizations, networks, and school districts nationwide to coach leaders and teachers on implementing standards-aligned, equitable and data-driven instruction, create and facilitate professional development, and write blended learning curriculums. Prior to this role, Julianne served as a Dean of Curriculum and Instruction with Uncommon Schools in Brooklyn, New York, where she wrote curriculum, coached teachers, and led professional development. With a passion for educational equity, Julianne began her career as a Teach for America Corps Member in the Bronx serving as a founding teacher in an elementary school, and continued her work in Brownsville, Brooklyn as a Founding Grade 4 Lead Teacher. She holds a BA and MA in elementary education with a specialization in literacy from the University of Florida.

    Grant holds both a BS and MS from the University of Florida, where he began his journey with Project Makeover as a volunteer. He remained deeply involved throughout his time at UF, eventually serving as Finance Director. Currently an MBA candidate at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, Grant also brings experience in management consulting and banking. Having attended a Title I high school himself, Grant understands firsthand the challenges faced by under-resourced schools. This personal connection fuels his passion for expanding Project Makeover to new universities and cities, with a focus on building communities that champion early education and create lasting impact for young learners.
